Why It's OK To Start Resolutions After New Year's

New Year's Resolutions. Personally, I can think of one resolution that I started on a New Year's Day and actually kept through that whole year.

It was my sophomore year of high school. I wasn't happy with my body and vowed to lose twenty pounds and to keep it off. I lost it in about two months, and by the summer, I had actually lost over thirty. Crazy, right?! I kept it all off through my junior year and slowly gained it all back beginning my senior year.

The difference between keeping that New Year's resolution and losing it was my DISCIPLINE and ACTION. I genuinely did not make it a priority that last year of high school. Yet, if I was as serious about it then as I was that sophomore year New Year's, I would be living in my dream body right now.

However, the biggest transformation I have ever had has been within myself. I always knew that I was destined for something great. I knew that I had the potential to be this total boss woman. I just never gave myself the opportunity to let her shine and embrace everything I wanted to be, and knew I could be.

Fast forward to now and I am MORE than I ever thought I would be. I've been experiencing massive growth. There is absolutely no way I will allow anyone stop me from achieving everything I want in life and more. Except God. He's a BIG exception. But if I continue to pray for His will to fuel the desires of my heart, we shouldn't have to worry about that.

The reason I wanted to share this transformation with you guys is because I actually started this "resolution" to become the absolute BEST version of me in the middle of the summer. I'm pretty sure it was on a Thursday too. So I didn't start on the stereotypical Monday either. I wanted this life change so badly that I started right then and there.

My point is you can start a "resolution" anytime you choose. You have my full permission to. As long as you have the discipline to commit to reaching your goals and the willingness and determination to put in the action needed to make those goals your reality.

I have successfully completed a New Year's resolution, as well as a random timing resolution. Truth be told, the day and time you start your resolution doesn't matter. At all. Whatsoever. You should start when you're ready to commit to your goals.

Are you ready to commit to your goals?

I love you guys! I can't wait to watch you all grow! Please be sure to subscribe to know when my new posts come out. Also, join the fun and follow me on Instagram! @ansley.brennan
